On May 14th, 1988 St. Louis Cardinals play everywhere guy, Jose ‘The Secret Weapon’ Oquendo moved to the mound from 1st base in the 16th inning of a marathon night against Atlanta. After pitching a couple of scoreless frames, Jose gave up a two run double to Ken Griffey Sr. taking the 7-5 loss for the Birds. It was the first time in twenty years that a non pitcher was apart of a decision.

1992 NFL Draft - Colts Pick First & Second
In 1992 the Indianapolis Colts held both the 1st and 2nd Picks in the NFL Draft. It was the first time this had happened since the Chicago Cardinals held the top two selections all the way back in 1958. The Cards would select two Offensive Players in QB King Hill and RB John David Crow.
The Colts went Defense with both their selections of DT Steve Emtman at # 1 & LB Quentin Coryatt with the 2nd pick.
My hometown team the Miami Dolphins also had two 1st round picks that year. They would double down on defense as well, selecting CB Troy Vincent and DE Marco Coleman with the 7th & 12th picks respectively.
This Draft is known for being the only draft since 1960 to not have a Hall of Fame player amongst the selections. It’s also the final year of the Twelve Round Draft format. The NFL would drop to eight rounds in 1993, then switched to the current seven round format in 1994.

People Can't Leave Things Alone
Who else remembers when the 49ers almost did this? It was February of 1991, when they almost made the boneheaded mistake of replacing their classic SF logo, with this stinker. People can’t leave things alone sometimes.
