Charles Oakley playing on the Chicago Bulls always looked strange to me. Oak was picked 9th overall in the 1985 draft by Cleveland, but his draft rights were traded to the Bulls. Charles had a few solid years in Chicago including All-Rookie Honors before he was traded to the Knicks for Bill Cartwright in 1988. Happy Birthday Oak Tree !!
With a 133-111 victory on December 3rd, 1993 the Atlanta Hawks dealt the Houston Rockets their first loss of the season after a 15-0 start. Atlanta went on to have one of their best seasons in franchise history finishing in 1st place in the East with a 57-25 record but they eventually would lose to the Indiana Pacers in the Conference Finals.

After winning a NBA Championship with the 1988-89 Detroit Pistons, the baddest ‘Bad Boy’ of them all, Rick Mahorn, was left unprotected in the 1989 Expansion Draft. Consequently Rick ended up being selected second overall by the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves. Mahorn would never actually play for the Wolves though, instead he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers where he & Sir Charles Barkley teamed up for two seasons forming the duo known as ‘Thump & Bump.’ Happy Birthday Rick!
🏀Tim Hardaway wore the # 5 for only his rookie season after being selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 14th overall pick in the 1989 draft. Does anybody know who was wearing Tim's customary # 10 that year? Happy birthday Tim!!
Will Perdue won 4 NBA championships during his 13 year career. They included three consecutive with the Chicago Bulls of the early 90’s & one more crown with the 1999-2000 San Antonio Spurs. Until I looked up some info on Will I never knew he was a native Floridian. Happy belated birthday to the former Merritt Island Mustang.
Happy Belated B-day to our dude & hops master Tony Dumas, the all-time leading scorer in University of Missouri Kansas City Kangaroos history. He became the first Roo selected in the NBA draft when he was picked 19th by the Dallas Mavericks in 1994. He does own the doobieous distinction of finishing in last place during the 1995 Slam Dunk contest when he failed to make even a single dunk in the first round.

Golden State Warriors southpaw sharpshooter Chris Mullin had five consecutive seasons where he averaged over 25 points per game. (‘88-89 - ’92-93) Those were also the only 5 seasons of his 16 year career that Chris was selected to the All-Star Squad. Happy Birthday Chris!
