Nate ‘The Great’ Thurmond has his # 42 retired by two NBA Franchises. His jersey hangs from the rafters of both the Golden State Warriors & Cleveland Cavaliers. Though, it’s in his very first game with another team, the Chicago Bulls, that Nate became the first player in NBA History to record a Quadruple-Double. (Block Shots were not recorded prior to 1973-74 season) Nate’s stat line that October night in 1974 went a little like this : 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocked shots.

Valentine's Day 1990- aka The Game Michael Jordan Wore the Number 12
The always superstitious Michael Jordan is forced to wear the number 12 for the Bulls during a road game in Orlando. His customary 23 was stolen from the Chicago locker room before the game. They even searched the crowd for any fan wearing a Jordan jersey that might fit the 6'6" guard. Despite the random no name jersey, MJ still scored a game high 49 points. The expansion Magic would pull off a double digit comeback in the 2nd half forcing OT, where they would eventually prevail 135-129 over the Bulls.
The 23 jersey would be found a few days later stashed up in the ceiling tiles of the visitors locker room.

#0 - Orlando Woolridge
Dudes We Dig !
(0) Orlando Woolridge was the last player to lead the Chicago Bulls in scoring (’83-’84-19ppg) before you know who showed up in town. ‘OboCop’ did still go on to average 23 ppg behind MJ’s 28 in ‘84-’85.

1996 NBA All-Star Game
February 11, 1996 - San Antonio, Texas
In his first All-Star Game back from retirement Michael Jordan poured in 20 points along with 4 rebounds during an Eastern Conference 129-118 victory. The performance would earn him MVP honors, although many fans thought East teammate Shaquille O’Neal should have been named MVP for his 25 pts & 10 rebounds.

On This Day - Michael Jordan Goes for 64.
It was back on January 16th, 1993 that Michael Jordan had the second highest scoring game of his amazing career. MJ poured in 64 points during a 128-124 Bulls overtime loss to the Orlando Magic. Rookie Shaquille O’Neal had 29 points & 24 Rebounds in his first visit to Chicago.
Charles Oakley
Charles Oakley playing on the Chicago Bulls always looked strange to me. Oak was picked 9th overall in the 1985 draft by Cleveland, but his draft rights were traded to the Bulls. Charles had a few solid years in Chicago including All-Rookie Honors before he was traded to the Knicks for Bill Cartwright in 1988. Happy Birthday Oak Tree !!
Happy Birthday Will Perdue
Will Perdue won 4 NBA championships during his 13 year career. They included three consecutive with the Chicago Bulls of the early 90’s & one more crown with the 1999-2000 San Antonio Spurs. Until I looked up some info on Will I never knew he was a native Floridian. Happy belated birthday to the former Merritt Island Mustang.

1991 Bulls
I know I’m a day late, but Congrats to those 1991 Bulls who on June 12th, 1991 pulled out a victory in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to complete a 4-1 series win over the L.A. Lakers. This was the first Championship for the Chicago Bulls Franchise. They would go on to win five more in the next seven seasons. This was also the first NBA Finals I can remember watching as a youngster. I was 10. That Saturday my family had to go to my cousin’s High School Graduation at the West Palm Beach Auditorium, so I had to try and tape the beginning of the game before we could get home. I can totally remember writing ‘Game 5-Bulls vs Lakers’ on the label of that VHS tape.
Craig Hodges
The three time defending champion of the 3 point contest (90,91,92). Who during the1993 shootout was forced to wear a generic NBA uniform because he was blackballed by the league and a free-agent at the time. A force for good.
