Burn of The Week - Wesley Walker
Let’s look back to Week 3 of the 1986 NFL season for the newest installment of the Blaze ‘Burn of The Week.’ Our honorary recipient is New York Jet great, Mr. Wesley Walker. The Miami Dolphins had traveled to the Meadowlands to face against the Jets in what would become an epic offensive battle between quarterbacks Dan Marino and Ken O’Brien. Between the two gunslingers they amassed 884 yards and 10 touchdowns. Wesley torched the Miami secondary for 194 yards on 6 catches & 4 of Kenny’s touchdowns. His third TD came as time ran out in the 4th quarter to tie the game at 45 & force OT. O’Brien found Wesley again in Overtime for a 43 yard walk off touchdown. Jets-51 - Dolphins-45
Burn Of The Week- Dana Barros Goes For 50
Our newest installment of the Blaze ‘Burn Of The Week’ goes out to Dana Barros who torched the Houston Rockets for 50 points back on March 14th, 1995. Barros shot 21 of 26 from the field including 6 of 8 from three point land during the Sixers 136-107 loss. Fifty points from one guy and they still lose by Twenty-nine? He would earn the NBA Most Improved Player Award and his only All-Star selection that season. Happy Birthday Dana Barros.
Burn of The Week - Larry Bird Torches Hawks
Our newest installment of the Blaze ‘Burn of the Week’ honors one of the best; Mr. Larry Legend. It was back on March 12th, 1985 when Bird torched the Atlanta Hawks for a career high 60 points!! He went 22 of 36 from the field and 15 of 16 from the line while scoring a Celtics record 37 points in the 2nd half. If you come across videos of this game, it’s so funny to watch the Hawks bench going nuts while Larry was knocking down jumpers left and right.

This installment of the Blaze ‘Burn of The Week’ goes out to our man Vinnie Johnson. The man known as ‘The Microwave’ sure heated up late in Game 5 of the 1990 NBA Finals. Burn of The Week with Tippy Martinez
In a new segment here at The Amazing Blaze Zine titled ‘The Burn of the Week’ we’re highlighting a player who stepped up & dealt their opponent a wicked ‘Burn.’ Our inaugural ‘Burn’ goes to Pitcher Tippy Martinez who during a 1983 game against the Toronto Blue Jays picked off three runners at 1st base all in the same inning! What’s even cooler was that it happened during extra innings. The O’s went on to win it in the bottom of the 10th 7-4.
