Burn Of The Week - Cliff Branch 99 Yard Touchdown

October 2nd, 1983 - Jim Plunkett connects with Speedy Wide Receiver Cliff Branch for a 99 yard touchdown, during a 37-35 loss to the Washington Redskins. It was Cliff’s only catch of the game. The Raiders would get their revenge though in Super Bowl XVIII following the season, where they ran all over Washington in a 38-9 rout. Cliff had 94 yards on 6 catches, including a TD in the big game.

Ronnie Lott

Safety Ronnie Lott led the NFL in Interceptions 2x over his Hall of Fame career. Lott had ten interceptions roaming the secondary for the 1986 San Francisco 49ers, & after signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1991 Ronnie recorded eight picks to lead the league. He finished his amazing career with 63 INT’S.

Longest INT Return in Raiders History

Safety Eddie Anderson owns the record for the longest interception return in Raiders history . In December of 1992 as a member of the L.A. Raiders, Eddie picked off a Dan Marino pass and returned it 102 yards for a touchdown in the 4th quarter of a 20-7 Raiders loss on Monday Night Football. Happy Birthday Eddie !!
