Safety Eric Turner was the 2nd overall pick of the 1991 draft by the Cleveland Browns. The UCLA Bruin is the highest selected Defensive Back in Draft history. Turner earned the first of his two Pro Bowl selections in 1994 when he tied for the league lead with 9 Interceptions, including a huge pick in the ‘94 AFC Wildcard game against New England where Cleveland pulled out their last playoff win, 20-13. Sadly E-Rock passed away in 2000 at age 31 from cancer. Happy Birthday! R.I.P.

Happy Birthday to Michael Jackson Dyson. The former Browns & Ravens Wide out had his best season in 1996 when he hauled in 76 passes for 1201 yards and 14 touchdowns! He wore his legal last name Dyson, on his jersey for only one game in the opening week of the 1993 season against the Cincinnati Bengals when the NFL forced him to change from his #1 to #81. He went back to Jackson on the reverse for the rest of his career. Sadly MJ was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2017.

OTD Throwback 33years to January 17th, 1988 and the infamous 'Fumble' from (44) Earnest Byner in the AFC Championship. The fumble with 1 minute left sent the Broncos to their 2nd straight Super Bowl.
Truth be told the Browns wouldn't have even been in the game if it wasn't for Byner. He led the Browns that day in both rushing & receiving. His 138 yds & 2 TD's in the 2nd half brought the Browns back from a 21-3 halftime deficit.🏈🏈

During a Cleveland Browns & Cincinnati Bengals battle, our dude Tommy Tupa grabs the distinction of being the first player in NFL History to score a 2 point conversion. The 2 point rule had just been adopted that season, and Tom & The Browns took advantage of it. The former Mr. Reggie Rutland holds the record for the longest INT return for a TD in Cleveland Browns history. The timing of the pick is really what I remember most about it. The INT came during the same 1993 game when Dan Marino blew out his achilles tendon. The southpaw Scott Mitchell was in for Miami and his very first throw was picked off my Najee and returned 97 yds for a touchdown. As a 12 year old Dolphins fan my world was upside down.
